The Public Library is a Lifelong Treasure

This was the final paragraph of the piece I published in yesterday’s ProJo.

From the love of my librarian and her story hour to books and help with research, libraries have been there for me. How very lucky I have been. How lucky we all are to have these treasures.

I wanted to convey how much a part of my the The Library has been and continues to be.

Here is the link:

Public Library is a Lifelong Treasure

I hope you enjoy it. And I hope it gives you incentive to support your libraries.

Is that your son? You look like twins in that photo!

The library certainly had an influence on your life as many others. How nice to sit as a child and to have an elder read stories that have our minds travel off to far away places. Yes, the libraries are filled with knowledge and information for us to draw upon. It’s been said one that reads not a book lives one life and one that reads a thousand books lives a thousand lives. I must confess I need to read many more books to live a thousand lives.

Thank you, Peter. Yes, I look at my unread books and wonder when I will get to them. But, after all, that’s the best part of reading. You never finish!

I too have a library of unread books! I don’t know where the time goes, but I feel like it’s passing me by. So much to do gardening, quilting, reading writing, visiting, etc. etc.! Time is flying and I am slowing down!

Natalie, don’t change a thing! One way to get some reading done is to go away … it doesn’t have to be far … for a lonnng weekend. Go to coffee shops and bookstores and do nothing but read.
