The Warwick Museum of Art states as part of its mission that it is committed to serve and unite the community in cultural and educational experiences. It is a place for artists, young and old.
Last evening, I was honored to be invited to speak there to an enthusiastic crowd of people. Diane and I had a wonderful time. It is one thing to give a presentation. It is another thing again to feel energy in the audience, to feel that they are listening, engaged, eager to learn. Engaged and involved they were as they shared their “growing up” stories with us.
Furthermore, they complemented the evening with good food and fine wine. Yes, it was an honor indeed to be in this center dedicated to the advancement of the arts.
Oh, I neglected to mention the exhibits… the CCRI Ceramics Invitational that combined the very fine talents of known ceramic artists with the work of current and former CCRI ceramics faculty and students. To our eyes, the work was outstanding. I urge you to visit this gem of a museum in the heart of Apponaug.
How lucky we were last evening.
